We got our hands on a clip from the film Pimp which opens with limited distribution today, November 9. Lee Daniels directs this modern love story that layers several themes to create a story that is well worth the trek to the theater.
Keke Palmer is the star, in a role we have yet to experience her in. She is a pimp, a lesbian, and in a relationship with one of her sex workers, a white woman named Nikki (played by Haley Ramm). Wednesday is not the only sex worker in the family. Her mother, played by Aunjanue Ellis is still in the game too. In this clip, we get to see just how fragile their relationship is, and how much Wednesday has to shoulder because of her mother’s addictions and penchant for getting into trouble. It’s trouble that Wednesday must clean up, even if it puts her and her girlfriend into more trouble than they are in.
