Universal has released the final trailer for the upcoming Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. The first two trailers focused on the the park’s location of Isla Nublar, home to an erupting volcano that threatens to wipe out all the dinosaurs that live on the island. The Dinosaur Protection Group led by Bryce Dallas Howard’s Claire Dearing seeks to save 11 species from the island including Blue, the raptor trained by Chris Pratt’s Owen Grady.
This trailer hints at a deeper plot than a rescue attempt for humanitarian reasons. There are shadowy figures pulling strings in the background who want to save the dinosaurs to use them as weapons. To further this aim they created a new dinosaur, “the most dangerous creature that ever walked the Earth.” This new plot feels a lot like 1997’s The Lost World: Jurassic Park, complete with dinosaurs loose and terrorizing the population outside of the island. Dearing and Grady must race against time to save Blue from those who would exploit her DNA to create weaponized dinosaurs and stop this newest threat.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, starring Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Justice Smith, James Cromwell, Toby Jones and Jeff Goldblum, opens June 22.
