Chef Touched by Gun Violence on ‘Gordon Ramsay 24 Hours to Hell & Back’

This week on Gordon Ramsay 24 Hours to Hell & Back, Ramsay visits a chef whose restaurant is failing and whose life is still recovering from a tragic loss to gun violence. BGN has this exclusive clip from FOX that shows restaurant owner Clive describing the loss of his son to Ramsay.

Clive’s story is known in the LA area, but Ramsay brings it to the national stage. In doing so, Ramsay’s show becomes one more conduit through which Black pain can reach the public. Gordon Ramsay 24 Hours to Hell & Back is just one more television show that ends up contributing to the narrative of Blackness in America. Other shows, especially the recent new slate of Black and Latinx centered programs, have also worked to bring stories of Black people and other POCs to the national spotlight.

You can see more of Clive’s restaurant, the Brownstone Bistro in Los Angeles, CA and Ramsay’s work on the dying business in this week’s episode. Gordon Ramsay 24 Hours to Hell & Back airs Wednesday nights at 9:00 PM Est on FOX.
