38225_10150235263085157_4754406_nJoelle is a graduate of Columbia College Chicago Cinema Arts + Science program. While at Columbia she made two award winning shorts. The first, Illuminated, took her to the Cannes Short Film Corner and the second, Daddy’s Little Girl, was selected for competition at the Sao Palo International Film Festival.

Since graduating Joelle has moved to Los Angeles to focus on a career in comics and television. She is the co-creator and writer of the webcomic Harsh Mellow and is attempting coloring which she still cannot believe is a real job people get paid for. You can also check her out on the Black Girl Nerds Podcast interviewing her favorite indie comics creators. Her passions include intersectionality, feminism, and queer culture. She’s also a big fan of first person shooters and sandbox gaming.
