Emily In Paris Ep 5

Emily wastes no time in telling Mindy her latest drama. Mindy’s advice is to be normal around Gabriel and stay friends with Camille, you know, so she can get a view of Gabriel. Emily messes up her French order and gets a lesson from Mindy. BTW “faux amis” means fake friends, which seems to be speaking to Emily’s relationship with Camille, who shows up at their breakfast table. The girl is picking up breakfast for her man. Mindy’s messy butt takes a picture of the two for Emily’s gram, which Camille follows.

Durée Cosmetics has invited Emily to their influencer lunch on the same day. Julien informs Emily that Durée used to be a client of theirs but they don’t speak of what happened. Emily tries to get info out of Sylvie but is informed that Hästens Luxury Beds is sending a representative to hear campaign ideas. Forget the Durée issue Emily. Luc’s idea of a slogan for Hästen is quite sex forward. Emily is unfamiliar with the “Eiffel tower” position. Isn’t she cute and vanilla? I’m enjoying the demonstration given by Luc and Julien, but that is lost on Emily. Unfortunate.

Emily goes to the lunch full of influencers. Oh, the stereotype is real. She goes straight to business but can’t seem to get to Olivia Thompson (Xanthe Elbrick), the CMO of Durée. Everyone else is posting about the products, but Emily goes with a different approach and gets Olivia’s attention. Olivia sets up lunch with Emily to discuss her ideas on marketing beyond influencers. Upon arriving home, Emily bumps into Camille and Gabriel on their way out. Camille insists that Emily tag along. They enjoy Starry Night projected on the walls. When Emily has a moment alone with Gabriel, they talk about the kiss and agree to act as if it never happened. Uh-huh, yeah right.

The Hästens representative, Klara (Aleksandra Yermak), doesn’t like the initial pitch given by Sylvie, and Luc is quieted immediately. Emily’s idea is to have people try the beds out in the most Instagrammable spots in the city and post photos of these people enjoying the beds. Very nice. Lunch with Olivia is a bit tricky. She wants to keep the marketing in-house and have Emily as their brand ambassador. It would seem that Olivia doesn’t like Sylvie, but can you blame her? Sylvie knows about Emily’s lunch for Durée, thanks to social media, and thinks that the girl knows nothing about luxury if she is working for free. She wants Emily to delete her account.

Emily In Paris Ep 5

Mindy is there to hear the issue and assist with one last photoshoot in the city. Lots of fun for the ladies. Late nights out in the city with your best friend are is fun. Drunken Emily hears from sober Gabriel that he felt the attraction, too. I thought we weren’t’ supposed to talk about it?

Emily’s last photo on her gram, in Place Dalida, has Klara interested in staging their bed there and to have Emily post there first. She also can keep her account. Emily invites Camille to check out the installment because she inspired it. The two take a picture in the bed with the clever hashtag “Getintobedwithus.” Gabriel sees it and seems to like it. Sir, calm down.

Emily will need to stay away from Gabriel before she loses out on a good friend like Camille. She is nice. Sylvie needs to be humbled, hard, but Emily won’t do it right away, I’m sure. Sylvie sees her as a threat.
