Women want to feel powerful. We crave simple rights that give us the power to be respected, to be treated equally and to be on the same level as everyone else. We want to embrace career opportunities, earn the same amount of money as men in the same position, and be given equivalent stature in important decisions in work and home.
Feel in Control of Life
Feeling in control of life helps us to feel motivated and organised and enables us to relax at the end of the day. What helps us to feel in control? Knowing that we are doing our best in everything helps us to feel confident. Managing finances, paying bills and even having a bit of disposable income makes life a lot easier and more enjoyable. Feeling in control is making sure that we are doing the best for our family, educating our children and managing time at home as a family, supporting our partner and feeling supported by them. Feeling in control is when most of the chores at home are done, the house is tidy and everything is in order. Not feeling in control can sometimes create anxieties which can increase stress.
Relationships with partners, parents, friends or family are not always smooth sailing and friction can sometimes arise when it’s least expected. Managing romantic relationships so that they do not affect other areas of your life can be difficult. Relationships play a massively important part of our life, whoever they are with. Losing loved ones is also one of the toughest times of our lives and learning to live without them can be challenging and upsetting. Finding time to grieve while normal life goes on is hard, especially if the bereavement is someone close. Finding solace in speaking to a grief counsellor or medium can help hugely and possibly speed up the grieving process as you offload your emotions. Managing relationships is often going to be a challenge, so accept that everyone is different, that they all have their own opinion. It’s interesting to know that most relationships seem to teach us something in life – whatever that may be.
The daily grind of working seems to be increasingly stressful as workplaces put more pressure on to employees and multi-tasking becomes an extraordinarily normal skill. Around 40% of illnesses that result in time off work are related to work stress, so feeling in control of your working life and being able to forget about it at the end of the day, is more important than ever. Having wind down time, relaxing and getting a decent amount of sleep will make a huge difference to how you feel during your working day.
How Can You Feel More in Control?
Getting control of your life is no easy task. But there are a few simple things you can do that will make a difference to your action-packed day. For example, hiring a cleaner for a few hours per week will take away some of the household chores and help you to relax more when you come home to a tidy house. Ditching a romantic relationship that has been dead in the water for some time, will give you a new lease of freedom and no doubt remove a lot of stress from your life. Delegating some of your workload to other colleagues or discussing your responsibilities with your boss, may result in an easier day at work. These are just a few things that could help you to feel more in control of your life. We all want to feel empowered, so first – get control
