Esther Abisola Omole is a Nigerian American visual artist, poet, and musician from Broward County, Florida. She is a recent graduate at Stanford University, where she studied Architecture and African and African American Studies. She is especially enamored with Black feminist poetics, Black creation, and space-making.
Pocket, an app that surfaces the best content online while shining a spotlight on emerging voices, and Her Campus, an online magazine for female college students, received more than 850 submissions in response to the prompt: What does it mean for you to come of age in a hyper-online, always-connected world?
The winner, Esther Abisola Omole, wrote a powerful essay called Reflection: Embracing My Undulating Image, that eloquently and clearly detailed the duality of the internet. As the winner, Esther will receive a $5000 cash prize, a personal mentorship call with a Mozilla executive and her essay will be featured on the Pocket app and website.
