Have you been longing for some authentic 90s r&b taste? Your wait is finally over: TLC are back!
Way Back is the new song released by the iconic r&b/ hip hop duo on April 13th. It features rapper, Snoop Dogg and was first heard during the TV series Star on March 9th. The song is reminiscent of high school parties and romances on the notes of singers like Marvin Gaye, Prince, James Brown and Michael Jackson:
“Like Prince and Marvin Gaye/ Like South side on Sunday/ Some things don’t ever change/ yeah, you and me […]James Brown and Michael J/ like them high school parties/ some things don’t ever change […]”.
Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins’ fifth and final studio album is due to come out on June 30th. The project, which still doesn’t have a title, has been funded by Kickstarter since 2015 and saw contributions both from TLC fans and well-known singers.
Besides grabbing a copy of their new album, don’t miss the opportunity to see TLC live! Next month they are going to join the “I Love the 90s” Tour with Naughty by Nature, C + C Music Factory with Freedom Williams, Montell Jordan, and Blackstreet. A full list of dates are available at the I Love the 90s website.
