Misha Green and Jurnee Smollett who are now working on their third project together are reuniting for a Birds Of Prey spinoff focused on Black Canary.
On a Twitter post Smollett confirmed the following:
“Guess the Canary is out of the cage! So excited to finally embark on this adventure with my creative soul sis.”

In an interview with Collider, she stated: “I just would just do the ‘canary scream’ to win all the time, which would frustrate [Jurnee],” Green recalled. “So, it was like, ’It’s kind of kismet and funny that you’re now Black Canary because I was using that character to beat you with this game.”
Reps for HBO Max did not respond to multiple requests for comment. No additional plot details have been released.
