black-ish is Movin’ On Up in the newest promo video for the show, and it gives me all the feels.
As The Jeffersons theme song “Movin’ On Up” starts to play, we see Bow (Tracee Ellis Ross) looking out a taxi window with a weepy, nostalgic look on her face. Dre (Anthony Anderson) is sitting beside her with a big goofy smile. Upon arrival at their destination, Dre lets the kids out of the back of a moving truck (smh), with Diane (Marsai Martin) holding the new family addition, baby De’Vante.
Where have The Johnsons moved to, you ask? Well, they’ve changed from Wednesdays to Tuesday nights, beginning October 3, 9|8c.
Created and executive produced by Kenya Barris, ABC’s black-ish is a half-hour comedy about an African-American family, learning to navigate life and its various challenges using humor, heart and most of all, love. black-ish also stars Yara Shahidi, Laurence Fishburne, Jennifer Lewis, Marcus Scribner, and Miles Brown.
