Phumzi wakes up in Mo’s arms, reminiscing about the night before when they shared a bottle of wine and a kiss that led to their current position. She fails to get out of bed without waking up Mo then asks him to not watch as she gets ready for work.
Jazmine is watching footage of the armoured break in but there is no explanation of how there is three minutes of missing footage. Word gets to Captain and Jazmine that Menzi has been reported missing, last seen at Alpha. Tlotlo is unaware that the cops have people on the inside, watching what is going on, when he meets with Thuso (Ntokozo Majozi) and Nonzi (Siyasanga Mfenyana) to count cash. The cops come in to question what Tlotlo knows about Menzi. Nonzi takes the time to text someone. Captain Stan Mazibuko questions him about the cash and illegal poker games, stating that he will search the place. Simon arrives to remind Stan that he doesn’t have a warrant, which dismisses Stan. He then goes to Tlotlo about the poker games that are putting the club license in jeopardy, telling him to shut it down or he will take the club.
Jazmine visits Mo at Phumzi’s place. The two women have tea, as they wait for Mo. Phumzi states that she knows everything that is going on. He arrives and suggests that they talk privately. Menzi’s disappearance is all on her mind but there seems to be history between the two. Phumzi is surprised that Mo wants to bring her to dinner at Simon’s.
Tlotlo kicks out Mimi (Busiswe Twala) when Thuso arrives with information on where the cash is being held. It would seem that Tlotlo is big on drugs and wants his cash back that night. He’s also carrying on the poker game for the night. Phumzi gets a sweet welcome from Simon but pettiness from Angela, who seems upset that Mo isn’t fixing his relationship with his son but honestly, I think she’s just jealous. Captain Stan and Jazmine go over the case, mulling over what Tlotlo knows.
Mimi is upset when Tlotlo goes out without her but leaves with Thuso and Nonzi. He is supposed to be helping her build her business. At the venue, many important people show up for the poker game. Simon surprises Mo with an old car then deals with Phumzi being upset about wearing a hand me down. At the club, Sting has to deal with Tlotlo and his people showing up to party. Sting informs Simon of what is going on. Thuso seems to disappear to the back. Tlotlo and his crew enjoy drugs, strippers, and drinks, not realizing that someone takes a picture of them. The picture is sent to Mimi, who is waiting for him at home.
While out driving with Phumzi, Mo claims that he doesn’t understand why she’s still upset. Simon is at Robin’s preparing for the cleansing ceremony when Sam states he wishes that he could mourn his cousin. Robin talks to Simon about them telling Sam the truth about her and her family. She’s been running from the FBI. Also, Sam is watching from his room. Tlotlo arrives home the next morning. As he sits down, he thinks about Neo and cries.
Tlotlo arrives for the ceremony as well but ignores both his father and uncle upon arrival. The two brothers go to speak with their father, Papa Samuel Senior (Sam Philips) about the business and Tlotlo’s behavior. Younger sister arrives but only hugs Mo. Phumzi helps around during the ceremony, which Papa notices. She also finds out that the family business helps to feed the people in the village. Mo makes his intentions with Phumzi known, but she wants to take things slow. Angela seems jealous of what is happening. Late at night, while at Robin’s, mermaid demands the sacrifice and Simon begs for his son’s life. Robin witnesses the scene.
Menzi’s body is found. Papa wants to speak to Mo about inside information. Mimi shows up at Tlotlo’s spot and takes money out of his safe while he is out. Tlotlo and Thuso are with Dominic talking about how they will get into the spot to take their money back at the club. The security alarm at the club goes off, Simon is on the phone with Mo who offers to go there, Sting is on his way, and Mimi has a gun pulled on her by a strange woman. While on the way to the club, Sting is shot by Thuso and Tlotlo is caught by Mo when he pulls up. Guns are firing everywhere but Tlotlo is convinced by the mermaid to take off his bulletproof vest and then is shot by Sting. Thuso makes it back to meet with Dominic. If only Tlotlo had gone with the original plan.
Obviously, this episode focused on Tlotlo’s hectic behavior. If there was any reason to further secure Mo into the family business, here is his reason. He will end up the villain. This time, it was most definitely Simon’s fault. Mo can’t catch a break.
