Professional ballet dancer Misty Copeland shares advice on how she is taking care of her mental health during the pandemic.

The dancer says, “I love to be in the kitchen, I love to cook and I love to listen to music.

So doing one of those things or all three of those things, whether it’s journaling, cooking or listening to music, speaking with my husband, speaking to friends. I think at least doing one of those things daily will keep you in a very positive and healthy state of mind, especially in times when we’re so removed from one another. I think the importance of community and family is so important for every human being and for the human experience.”

During the Child Mind Institute’s #WeThriveInside campaign, a new video will be released each day featuring homemade, inspiring messages from celebrities sharing their personal struggles during the COVID-19 crisis and what they are doing to cope. The videos will appear on the Child Mind Institute’s social media channels (Twitter: @ChildMindInst; Instagram: @childmindinstitute; Facebook: facebook.com/ChildMindInstitute) and childmind.org/WeThriveInside.

Additional #WeThriveInside campaign participants include: Octavia Spencer, Clark Gregg, Perrie Edwards, Barbara Corcoran, Manu Rios, Rick Springfield, Monica Seles, Storm Reid, Ginger Zee, Dr. Ruth Westheimer, Marcus Scribner, Adam Grabowski, Alysia Reiner, Nessa Barrett and more names to come throughout the month.
