Coming back for the second season Altered Carbon on Netflix are actors Renée Elise Goldsberry and Chris Conner returning for their roles as Quellcrist Falconer and Poe. It was announced today that actress Simone Missick, most notably known as playing Detective Misty Knight on the now-canceled Netflix series Luke Cage will appear in the sophomore season. Dina Shihabi, who appeared in yet another canceled Netflix show Marvel’s Daredevil is appearing along with Torben Liebrecht (Operation Finale) and James Saito.
Anthony Mackie has also been added to the cast.
As reported on Deadline, Mackie will be the new embodiment of Kovacs, as the series continues to delve into the themes of identity, mortality, and the human soul across longer periods of times and different worlds throughout the universe.
Altered Carbon made its season premiere on Netflix on Feb 2nd of last year, and was described by one of our critics as a combination of Ghost In The Shell and Blade Runner.

Altered Carbon is based on a book series of the same name written by Richard K. Morgan and is best described as a cyberpunk/neo-noir. The television series was developed by Laeta Kalogridis and stars Joel Kinnaman (Robocop; The Killing), Rene Elise Goldsberry (Hamilton; One Life to Live), Will Yun Lee (Hawaii Five-0), and Dichen Lachman (Dollhouse).
