Last night one of the most popular fashion events of the year took place at the illustrious Met Gala in the city that never sleeps — New York City. The super exclusive event that invites the biggest and brightest stars of music, film, sports and all entertainment come out to show their Sunday’s best on the red carpet following an extravagant dinner afterward.
Several years ago, a friend of mine who works for the Associated Press needed someone to help fetch SD cards to and from the event to their offices. I volunteered to help and got a taste of what this experience is like live as it is happening. The camera lights are so blinding from the flash photography it’s amazing how any of these stars can find their way into the hall, and the collective sound of “ooohs” and “aaahs” dominates the crowd. If you ever have the opportunity to experience NYC’s Met Gala, I highly encourage you to check it out, and hopefully one day you can be invited too! Just become BFFs with Anna Wintour! Anything is possible!
This year’s theme was Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination and as you can imagine there were certainly some celestial beings gracing photographers last night.
