Universal Pictures is premiering the new film Breaking In this Mother’s Day weekend. The movie, starring Gabrielle Union, is about a mother who musters all the physical and inner strength that she has in order to save her kids. At one point, this means running in the woods—BAREFOOT—to allude a crazed man wanting to do her harm. The mother in this film is unlike any other, forcing a new way of looking at black mothers in thriller and horror films.
In celebration of the release, BGN is joining the conversation about what true strength looks like when it meets motherhood. This is where we need your help. Send us stories of how your mother or a mother you know has shown unbelievable strength, no matter who or what the adversary was. Use the hashtag #MamasBreakingIn to connect your stories on social media. We want this Mother’s Day weekend to mirror the themes in Breaking In by showing what real strong mothers look like. Join us by posting your story and don’t forget the hashtag #MothersBreakingIn.
