This week, Sony Pictures released the trailer for the upcoming Venom sequel, named Venum: Let there be carnage. This movie will be released exclusively in cinemas on September 24th, so if you planned on streaming it, then sadly you’re out of luck.

Moving back to the trailer, it follows Tom Hardy as the main character Eddie Brock, who seems to be (just about) co-existing alongside Venum. Early on, the clip shows Eddie struggling to cook breakfast due to Venum’s primal needs. Thankfully, this is done with the humor that made the first film a success.

As the title suggests, this movie looks at Venum’s main rival, Carnage who is played by Woody Harrelson. For those ignorant of Marvel lore, Venum is the giant black and white monster, whereas Carnage is the giant red and white monster. Venum is an anti-hero, whereas Carnage is downright evil…as the name suggests.

Undoubtedly, this movie will perform well at the box office. Anything Marvel-related seems to tick all the boxes lately, whether that’s Spiderman or The Avengers, you can almost guarantee that people will be lining up in their droves to watch this one.

On a similar note, it will be interesting to see how this one compares to the original. With the 2018 film banking over $856,000,000, it will be a test of the movie-going public’s response to Coronavirus to see how this film gets on.
