Aldis Hodge and Wunmi Mosaku are teaming up for a thriller, and that casting alone has our attention. Between Mosaku’s unforgettable performance in Sinners and Hodge’s adventures across superhero cinema, science fiction, and crime television, this pairing brings plenty for the BGN fandom to get excited about.

The actors are set to star in One Night Out for Amazon MGM Studios’ Orion Pictures, with George Tillman Jr. directing. The film will stream on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide, according to Deadline.

The premise takes a familiar parenting milestone, finally getting out of the house together, and turns it into a nightmare. A married couple struggling with relationship issues leave their three children with a babysitter for a rare evening out. But when they spot someone inside their home on the nanny cam, their plans unravel. Suddenly, they must race home and work together to save their kids.

Apparently, getting a reservation and securing childcare were only the beginning of their problems.

Nelson Greaves wrote the screenplay, based on his own short story, with revisions by Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo. For Tillman, the project offers a long-awaited opportunity to bring its two leads together.

“I’ve wanted to work with Aldis and Wunmi for years. We’ve talked in the past about collaborating, but I’ve been looking for the right project for us to do together, and I’m very happy we found it in One Night Out,” Tillman said.

Mosaku already knows how to hold our attention when an ordinary evening becomes something terrifying. As Annie, the Hoodoo practitioner in Ryan Coogler’s Sinners, she brought emotional depth and spiritual authority to a story where survival depended on understanding the danger at the door. Her performance gave the vampire film a powerful human anchor, making this next venture into suspense especially intriguing.

Hodge, meanwhile, has been building quite the fandom résumé. He suited up as Carter Hall, better known to DC fans as Hawkman, in Black Adam. Yes, we still appreciate a man who can make those wings and that helmet work.

He also starred alongside Danielle Deadwyler and his brother Edwin Hodge in Parallel, a science fiction thriller exploring grief and alternate realities. That film gave him room to navigate the emotional uncertainty beneath its mind-bending premise. More recently, he has commanded the screen as Detective Alex Cross in Prime Video’s Cross, bringing another beloved literary character to television.

Putting these two actors at the center of a family crisis creates an appealing prospect: a suspense story where the relationship can carry as much weight as the threat. Their characters already have trouble communicating, and now their children’s safety depends on finding a way through it together.

We’ll be watching for more details on One Night Out. For now, Mosaku and Hodge sharing the screen is enough to earn this thriller a spot on our radar.
