Disney and Lucasfilm have been unusually quiet about Solo: A Star Wars Story. The biggest news recently has been the reveal of the title of the film. That is, if you aren’t counting the change of directors. If you want more information, your best bet is to stalk director Ron Howard‘s social media, as he’s been posting behind-the-scenes photographs documenting his process finishing (or reshooting) it. He even revealed the title itself through social media. The film comes out soon so, hopefully, a trailer is somewhere out there on the horizon. For now, we have the official description of Solo: A Star Wars Story:
Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in Solo: A Star Wars Story, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.
All of this we already knew or could have at least guessed at but it’s nice to see it laid out. We now know we’ll definitely see more of the Star Wars version of a criminal underworld, that the meeting with Chewbacca will happen fairly early, and that Lando will probably play a big part in the movie. Of course, I could also be wrong…a trailer would help a lot with that.
Solo: A Star Wars Story is set to premiere on May 25, 2018.
