Magic and possibility is at the heart of Disney Cruises, and few people embody this spirit more than Yolanda Cade, Vice President of Communications for Disney Signature Experiences. BGN sat down with Yolanda Cade and Marcus Gibson about their respective roles on the new Disney Treasure. As a journalist-turned-communications-leader, Yolanda’s journey reflects her passion for storytelling and her deep connection to Disney’s mission of creating extraordinary experiences for all.
“Growing up in South Florida, cruising and visiting the Bahamas were just part of life,” Yolanda shared with a warm smile. “Now, as someone who grew up visiting Disney parks with my family, it’s incredibly special to be part of a brand that combines entertainment, magic, and a commitment to diversity.”

Yolanda’s pride in Disney’s inclusivity shines through. “When I sit at the table, I see myself and so many others represented. Representation matters,” she emphasized. Her role is more than a job; it’s a platform for storytelling and fostering a sense of belonging, values reflected in every aspect of the Disney Treasure.
The Disney Treasure is more than a ship; it’s a celebration of adventure, from its decor to its dining experiences. One particular immersive experience Yolanda mentions is Plaza de Coco, the first-ever themed restaurant dedicated to the beloved film Coco.

“You’ll be transported to the world of Santa Cecilia,” she explained. “The mariachi band, the vibrant decor, the Mexican-inspired dishes. Everything immerses you in the story.” Rotational dining, a concept pioneered by Disney, ensures guests experience every unique restaurant onboard without missing a single magical detail. Beyond the dining, the Disney Treasure offers something for everyone. Whether it’s a romantic date night at one of the adult-exclusive venues or a family movie night watching the latest Disney release, every moment onboard is carefully crafted.
“We’re purpose-built for families,” Yolanda said. “Whether you’re traveling with grandparents, parents, or kids, everyone has something special to enjoy.”
Marcus Gibson, Show and Creative Producer, plays a pivotal role in bringing the Disney magic to life onboard. From Broadway-caliber shows to interactive experiences, Marcus and his team blend cutting-edge technology with timeless storytelling. The result? Unforgettable moments that leave guests of all ages in awe.
“Storytelling is at the core of everything we do,” Marcus explains, reflecting on the mission that drives his work. “We want guests to feel like they’re stepping into something bigger than themselves, where they’re part of a story, not just spectators.” But it’s not just about the spectacles themselves. Gibson’s job involves constantly evolving to meet new challenges, like ensuring that performances remain fresh and captivating, with each ship presenting its own personality.

“Every ship has its own personality, much like your family members,” Yolanda noted. “The Treasure’s theme of adventure is woven into every detail, creating a journey that celebrates exploration and discovery.”
From breathtaking shows and immersive experiences to world-class dining and family-friendly activities, Disney Cruises offer a vacation unlike any other. Every moment aboard is crafted with care, ensuring that guests of all ages are enchanted by the magic that only Disney can deliver. Whether you’re stepping into a world of immersive themed spaces or indulging in unique culinary delights, the attention to detail and dedication to storytelling are felt at every turn.
With the leadership of talented individuals like Yolanda Cade and Marcus Gibson, the creative team ensures that every experience is felt and each production is a spectacle that brings Disney’s most beloved stories to life. It’s clear that Disney Cruises are more than just a getaway, they’re an invitation to be part of something truly special, where every journey becomes a new chapter in your own magical adventure.
