How to Pass Time When Stuck in an Airport

You know the feeling when you have planned, prepared for, checked and then double checked everything is just so?  Probably you have packed more than once too but then that is part of the fun of going away on vacation.

One of the main things you can’t predict (besides the weather) is a possible delay with your flight, but there are a few things you can do ‘just in case’ this happens to you.

Being stuck in the airport whether you are on your own, as one of a couple or with a group can prove both irritating and frustrating, after all there are only so many times you can trawl the duty-free shops.

One great tip is to pack your cables to your laptop or portable device right at the top of your hand luggage so that is you do happen to be stranded you can easily find your electronical stuff quickly. Most good airports have free Wi-Fi hot spots so there should be no trouble in finding a hand seat for you to settle down and enjoy some online time.

Play some online casino games

You can play some online poker or other casino games on your smartphone to kill some time. Casino gaming software is so advanced that you can now stream live casino games with a live deal on your smartphone. You never know you might just have a lucky streak and earn yourself some extra spending money for your vacation.

Learning a few phrases in the language of the country you are visiting is also a good idea as many people appreciate that a little thought has gone into a ‘thankyou’ or ‘please’ and that you have taken the time to learn their language, and this could quite easily transfer over to the service you receive.

If you find that you are sitting down for too long then take a walk about the airport but always remember to keep an eye on the departure notice boards that change rapidly. If you are serious about keeping fit then check to see if the airport has a gym…many do nowadays and you could run your frustrations off in no time at all.

One of the biggest temptations is to go to the bar and have a few drinks whilst waiting but remember that you are going to be tired and that you have a flight in front of you so consuming too much alcohol is not a great idea before a flight.

We cannot plan for unforeseen eventualities but with a little thought we can definitely make some preparations that don’t cost money or take too much time.
