Lionsgate Presentation at CinemaCon

The Lionsgate presentation opened with a mix of 2023’s slate of films along with films due for release in 2024. Kevin Grayson, president of worldwide distribution came to the stage with opening remarks and introduced the chair of Lionsgate motion picture group Adam Fogelson.

There is a Blair Witch film set to be led by Blumhouse Pictures and a Monopoly movie with Margot Robbie.

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is due for release on April 19th and In the Grey is due for release Jan 17th 2025. Both films are directed by Guy Ritchie. Henry Cavill joins CinemaCon to talk about his role in both films starting with how his facial hair looks on him in the former film. Cavill says that Guy Ritchie creates a wonderful environment for his character and a freedom of friendship.

The Strangers comes out May 17th is a new origin horror story coming out from Lionsgate film slate.

Borderlands is film with a fully stacked all-star cast directed by Eli Roth. Both Eli Roth and Ariana Greenblatt came on the stage to chat about the film. Eli mentioned films like The Fifth Element and Raiders of The Last Ark which were invoked when talking about the groundwork behind crafting Borderlands. Ariana mentions how she feels so fortunate to be on her journey and how so many people have been able to see her artistry. Greenblatt describes the ensemble characters as a functional-dysfunctional family.

Eli Roth said when working with Greenblatt, this film was shot before Barbie, and said to her to watch My Dinner With Andre to prep for her character.

The Crow red band trailer was presented to the audience.

Never Let Go is a film starring Oscar-winner Halle Berry. The new horror film comes with a September 27th release date. Halle Berry appeared onstage to discuss the film. She said she is a bonafide adrenaline junkie and she said she always loved this genre and The Shining was one of her favorites. A mother and two children her were born in this house that they have never left in the middle of the woods and for Berry she found that story to be fascinating and wondered what would mothering look like in that environment. She says this film wildly challenged her. Berry says this film asks “What would you do to protect your children?”

The movie trailer for the The Best Christmas Pageant Ever from director Dallas Jenkins and also creator of The Chosen was presented to the CinemaCon audience. The other titles mentioned was The Killer’s Game starring Dave Bautista in a Jason Statham-like stylized action flick. Then there’s the Mark Wahlberg movie Flight Risk where he plays a balding hitman on a charter plane.

Kerry Washington stars in Shadow Force along with Omar Sy as a special forces trained couple that has to go underground to save their son.

Good Fortune written, directed and starring Aziz Ansari is an originally delightful comedy with an all-star cast. Aziz Ansari came to the stage starting out with some jokes for the crowd entertaining everyone and reminding us all how great of a comedian he is. Keanu Reeves, who also stars in the film, got injured on the set of Good Fortune and fractured his kneecap which an image of Keanu in crutches was shown on screen. Ansari is still cutting the movie together and the film is coming soon.

John Wick Presents Ballerina is set between John Wick 3 and 4. June 6, 2025 is the release date.

Michael the highly anticipated biopic has a release date of April 18 2025. Producer Graham King gave a first look for the audience of the film for the CinemaCon audience. Generations of moviegoers will get an inside look at one of the most prolific music makers of our time. The film will have over 30 songs spanning his career. Over 500 cast and crew worked on the event film.

CinemaCon wraps up April 11th.
