Social Distance Ep 4
Spread the love

April 17, 2020, Shane (Max Jenkins) is relaxing with what is going on in the internet while his partner, Marco (Brian Jordan Alvarez), is struggling with home security. These two very different people are getting annoyed with each other. Marco hops on a Zoom meeting with coworker Ali (Rana Roy), who may be getting divorced because her husband cut it. I’m curious about it. Did I mention the meeting is in the kitchen? Shane walks in asking for a bottle opener and that prompts an awkward, passive-aggressive discussion on why things were changed in the kitchen. Ali suggests they postpone the meeting, but Marco wants to pause it then he hits the camera button instead of the mic. Oh no.

Social Distance Ep 4

Marco goes off on Shane for being a day drinker who doesn’t work or clean up after himself, while Shane can’t deal with Marco constantly on his case for violating his rules. Ali lowkey listens to the argument. I would, too. Marco states that quarantine is showing them that they are two different people, while another couple they know are getting closer and are constantly intimate. Lord have mercy. Shane casually suggests that they probably need more excitement, maybe a third partner for their sex life. No good. After Shane walks off, Marco hops back on with Ali and finds out that she heard everything. I would rather be the one with the muted mic.

The security alert goes off when Shane opens the window after he burned an angel cake that he was making for Marco for an apology. Shane has taken the time to clean up and do things that Marco likes. Marco has also thought about things and is willing to try the threesome suggestion. We are going to Grindr! After posting a couples photo and defining each other, the two scroll through for a responsible, clean partner. Shane happens upon a guy from a gym that he and Marco went to. They both used to stare at him back then. While Marco is on the fence, Shane handles texting the potential third. They are able to secure the date for Sunday.

Social Distance Ep 4

Shane does pushups while Marco sets up the security cameras. He’s a bundle of nerves. I don’t know how anyone could date during quarantine, too. Adam (Peter Vack), arrives with a mask and hand sanitizers. Adam is a bit on the high maintenance side but is ready to jump in with Shane. When Marco tries to join in, Adam pulls away because he noticed that Adam was biting his nails and that has bacteria. He requires that Marco rinse out his mouth. Dude wow. As Marco goes to deal with things, Shane and Adam continue making out.

At some point, Shane video calls Marco because Marco has been gone a minute. Marco is upset with Shane for liking the very anal Adam, which Shane points out that he is used to. Marco realizes the type of person he is, and Shane states the only reason he brought up adding a third person is because Marco has pointed out how disgusting Shane is. He thought Marco wants another person and lately feels like Marco is going to leave him. The two finally talk things out. Shane doesn’t feel like Marco likes him anymore, while Marco is doing all this to keep Shane around. The two have finally reignited their love for each other, but now have to deal with getting Adam out.

The alarm goes off, and the two act like they can’t turn it off. They get Adam to leave and enjoy each other. A happy Marco comes home to a happy Shane. The two interact a lot better now. Marco catches Adam on Grindr, who insists that he’s just looking. The two check out a message from a neighbor and decide to invite him over for drinks. The alarm goes off again.

Social Distance Ep 4

Being stuck indoors with people who are different than you can become problematic. Communication and understanding are the only way to get on the same page on what you want. Honesty can go a long way. So far this is my favorite episode.
