On a sun-drenched Saturday afternoon in Los Angeles, over 800 creatives, changemakers, and tastemakers gathered at Nya Studios East for the return of MACRO Summer House, a highly anticipated annual celebration hosted by MACRO Founder & CEO Charles D. King and Stacey Walker King, the company’s Chief Brand Officer.
Now a staple on the summer calendar for Black Hollywood and beyond, the event radiated joy, inspiration, and unapologetic Black excellence—delivered with a side of street tacos and champagne pong.
A Vibe-Filled Afternoon in the Heart of Hollywood
From 2 to 7 p.m., the transformed lot at 1541 N. Cahuenga Blvd. became a haven for culture and connection. The space buzzed with laughter, music, and familiar faces, as attendees rotated between local food trucks, DJ sets, badminton, mini golf, and stylish social corners designed for conversation and content.
Whether debating their next film project over tacos or reconnecting on the dance floor, guests moved through the event like it was a backyard reunion, albeit one with a media mogul’s guest list.
Food for Thought: A Conversation with Keith Lee
The centerpiece of the afternoon was “Food for Thought,” an insightful panel featuring viral food critic and cultural connector Keith Lee, in conversation with Stacey Walker King. Lee reflected on the power of authenticity, community-driven impact, and the responsibility that comes with a platform rooted in trust.
“People don’t just care about what you say—you’re feeding them energy,” Lee shared, earning nods from a packed audience that included entertainment heavyweights and rising stars alike.
A Star-Powered Guest List
The celebration drew an impressive slate of talent across film, television, and digital, including:
- Aldis Hodge
- Algee Smith
- Aziza Scott
- David Oyelowo
- Gabrielle Dennis
- Heather B
- J. Alphonse Nicholson
- JB Smoove
- Jharrel Jerome
- Keith Lee
- Lil Rel Howery
- Melvin Gregg
Their presence wasn’t just for the photo ops, it was a testament to MACRO’s enduring influence and community-first ethos.
A Celebration of Black Creative Power
Founded with a mission to amplify the voices of people of color across media, MACRO continues to shape the industry not only through its content but through its culture. Summer House isn’t just a party — it’s a reflection of the ecosystem MACRO has cultivated: bold, brilliant, and built on purpose.
From lawn games to real talk, the 2025 edition of MACRO Summer House was a vibrant reminder that joy, rest, and radical creativity can and should coexist.
