Apple Films has released the trailer for the film Emancipation starring Will Smith and directed by Antoine Fuqua. Despite the Will Smith controversy, which initially caused the film to be pushed back, Apple has moved forward with releasing the movie just in time for the 2022 awards season.
The film delivers a story about an enslaved man who embarks on a perilous journey to reunite with his family in this powerful film inspired by true events.
Emancipation premieres in theaters on Dec. 2 and will stream on Apple TV+ starting Dec. 9
