Marvel Studios closed out Hall H with one of the biggest presentations of San Diego Comic-Con, packing the stage with surprise reveals, major casting announcements, and exclusive footage that has fans counting down to the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The centerpiece of the presentation was an epic Avengers: Doomsday panel moderated by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. Joining him on stage were directors Anthony and Joe Russo alongside an all-star lineup that included Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Pedro Pascal, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Simu Liu, James Marsden, David Harbour, Letitia Wright, Lewis Pullman, Kelsey Grammer, Danny Ramirez, Winston Duke, Hannah John-Kamen, Rebecca Romijn, Tenoch Huerta Mejia, and Hayley Atwell, who officially confirmed her return as Peggy Carter.
Marvel leaned all the way into the spectacle. Every attendee inside Hall H received a Doctor Doom mask and cloak before Robert Downey Jr., now stepping into the role of Victor von Doom, invited the audience to put them on, transforming the room into an army of Doom followers. The panel also featured exclusive footage from Avengers: Doomsday that was shown only to fans in attendance.
The upcoming crossover will unite heroes from three different universes as they face their greatest threat yet. Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and produced by Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and Jonathan Schwartz, the film also stars Chris Hemsworth, Florence Pugh, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Wyatt Russell, Channing Tatum, Ian McKellen, Tom Hiddleston, Patrick Stewart, Joseph Quinn, Sebastian Stan, Kathryn Newton, Alan Cumming, and Mabel Cadena.
Avengers: Doomsday arrives exclusively in theaters on December 18, 2026.
Marvel also dropped a surprise announcement that had Hall H roaring with excitement: Ghost Rider is officially returning to the big screen. Kevin Feige welcomed Ryan Gosling and director Shawn Levy to the stage to confirm the studio has begun work on a brand-new Ghost Rider film, slated for release in 2028. Jonathan Tropper is attached to write the screenplay, marking another major addition to Marvel Studios’ expanding slate.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day also had a moment in the spotlight as Jon Bernthal made a surprise appearance to discuss his return as Frank Castle, better known as The Punisher. Fans were treated to an exclusive preview of the upcoming Sony Pictures film, which swings into theaters on July 31, 2026.
But Marvel wasn’t done just yet.
Saving one final surprise for the end of the presentation, Kevin Feige welcomed Academy Award-winning filmmaker Ryan Coogler to the Hall H stage. Returning to direct Black Panther 3, Coogler was joined by Letitia Wright and Winston Duke, who confirmed the highly anticipated sequel will hit theaters on December 15, 2028.
Then came one of the presentation’s biggest emotional moments. Coogler revealed that David Jonsson will take on the mantle of the new Black Panther, ushering in a new era for Wakanda while honoring the franchise’s legacy.
From Avengers: Doomsday to Ghost Rider, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and Black Panther 3, Marvel Studios delivered a Hall H presentation packed with blockbuster announcements that will shape the MCU for years to come.
