Hasbro Brings Nostalgia and New Beginnings to SDCC 2026 With Transformers and My Little Pony Reveals

The Transformers: The Movie celebrated its 40th anniversary in a big way at San Diego Comic-Con, as Hasbro delivered an evening packed with music, collectibles, and exciting announcements for longtime fans and a new generation alike.

The celebration kicked off with The Transformers: The Movie 40th Anniversary Celebration of Life Concert, an unforgettable tribute to the 1986 animated classic. Fans were treated to electrifying performances from Stan Bush, Vince DiCola, KNIGHTS OF UNICRON, Cold Slither, and and Britta Phillips, best known to many animation fans as the original singing voice of Jem from Jem and the Holograms. bringing the film’s iconic soundtrack to life decades after it first rocked audiences.

Adding to the nostalgia, Hasbro debuted a brand-new music video for “Nothin’s Gonna Stand in Our Way”, featured on The Transformers: The Movie: The Soundtrack: The Reformatted Edition. The newly remastered soundtrack is now available across major streaming platforms and on vinyl, giving fans another way to revisit one of animation’s most beloved soundtracks.

But the surprises didn’t stop there.

During the evening’s Transformers brand panel, Hasbro announced that this fall’s theatrical re-release of The Transformers: The Movie will include an all-new post-credits companion piece, giving audiences an extra reason to return to theaters. Fans eager to experience the anniversary event can purchase tickets beginning August 7 through participating theaters.

Collectors also had plenty to celebrate as Hasbro unveiled an impressive lineup of More Than Meets The Eye merchandise. Highlights included collaborative Monster Jam action figures alongside new additions to the Age of the Primes collection featuring Wild Rider and Alpha Bravo, as well as Scorn joining the ever-popular Studio Series lineup.

The panel wasn’t solely focused on Cybertron, however.

Hasbro also looked toward the future with the announcement of My Little Pony: Forever Friendship, a brand-new animated YouTube series centered on friendship, magic, and self-discovery. The franchise’s newest adventure aims to introduce a fresh generation of fans to Equestria while celebrating the heart that has made My Little Pony a beloved property for decades.

To accompany the announcement, Hasbro released the uplifting theme song, “FOREVER FRIENDSHIP,” now streaming on major music platforms, along with a colorful cast video showcasing the characters fans will meet throughout the series.

From celebrating four decades of Autobots and Decepticons to ushering in the next chapter of My Little Pony, Hasbro’s Comic-Con presentation proved that its most iconic franchises continue to evolve while honoring the generations that made them cultural touchstones.
