At CinemaCon 2025, Warner Bros. delivered an impactful and star-studded presentation highlighting its upcoming theatrical slate. The studio’s session featured a sizzle reel of projects one of the biggest highlights was James Gunn’s Superman, which featured onstage appearances by Gunn, producer Peter Safran, and stars David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, and Nicholas Hoult. They shared insights into the emotional and creative pressures of revamping the iconic DC character. The presentation concluded with an exclusive clip from the film, generating significant buzz among attendees.
Other major reveals included:
- Final Destination: Bloodlines, which showed a graphic preview scene, reaffirming the franchise’s legacy of elaborate horror sequences.
- F1, a racing drama starring Brad Pitt, directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, which impressed with its high-octane opening 10 minutes.
- Minecraft and Sinners were mentioned briefly, both expected to be significant releases later in 2025.
- Additional teases included Weapons, The Conjuring: Last Rites, and Mortal Kombat II with some fresh footage and details.

Mortal Kombat II featured Scorpion’s infamous “Get over here!” line in the trailer screened exclusively for the CinemaCon audience.
Leo DiCaprio, Regina Hall, and Teyana Taylor came onstage to discuss their film One Battle After Another. Teyana Taylor says her character is “a mess” and she loves very hard. But she’s not likeable and she’s got a lot going on. “She’s a situationship”. She’s described as being tough on the outside but she’s a baby who wants to be protected.
Warner Bros. Animation also unveiled its upcoming The Cat in the Hat film with Bill Hader voicing the titular character, while also building excitement around its summer family offerings.

Maggie Gyllenhaal director of The Bride was another great take away from the WB presentation. When asked how she came to direct the film, Gyllenhaal says she saw this guy with the bride of Frankenstein tattooed on his arm, and she noticed in the original film the bride only spoke for three minutes. And that’s far different than the bride in her film. Maggie also said she is also really interested in monsters. She says the monsters in the film do monstrous things, but they’re also heroes.
Going back to Superman, WB’s big title that the presentation ended with, director James Gunn said he was first offered Superman in 2018. He went with Suicide Squad because it was the easier path. But the idea of Superman stuck with him. Gunn also adds the film is a story that’s utterly human but utterly fantastic at the same time. It’s something that took a long time to get there.
Overall, Warner Bros. emphasized a mix of major franchise continuations and bold original storytelling, setting a strong tone for the rest of the week at CinemaCon 2025.
