The waiting is finally over and The 100 has a premiere date. This is both good and bad news. The bad news, Hollywood Reporter reveals, is that it has been pushed back all the way until April 24th! The good news is that it gets prime real estate after a brand new episode of The Flash. Executive Producer, Jason Rothenberg commented on Twitter, “That time slot though! Tuesday at 9 following [The Flash]! That’s as good as it gets, guys. Thank you [CW]!”

Additionally, The 100 will be taking the timeslot that is vacated by brand new, highly anticipated Black Lightning when it has completed its midseason run. Black Lightning will have its premiere during MLK Weekend in Washington DC and feature BGN’s own Editor-In-Chief, Jamie Broadnax along with the cast, crew, and guests.

Overall, this should be a relief to fans who haven’t heard anything about the show from official channels in quite a while. Likely, its active online presence and generally good reviews, especially for its stellar fourth season, informed the CW brass that it could handle the move from January to April to make way for an exciting new property. The promise of the Season 5 trailer has nurtured a bit of a frenzy online, so while it’s understandable that The CW wants to wait to do a promotional roll out for The 100 closer to its air date, it might be a good idea for them to cut a short, sweet teaser trailer they can drop this month while they defer releasing the full trailer later.

What other things can we count down while we twiddle our thumbs and wait?
