Jordan Peele never ceases to amaze us, he continues to keep on winning with hits like his critically acclaimed film Get Out (which he chatted to us about) — his latest production project from Spike Lee BlacKkKlansman which received a standing ovation at Cannes, and his new episodic comedy starring Tiffany Haddish and Tracy Morgan The Last OG. This guy is busy! But it doesn’t end there. According to Variety, Amazon has given a straight-to-series order to a new drama aptly titled The Hunt. Created by David Weil and based on real events, the story follows a diverse band of Nazi Hunters living in 1977 New York City. The Hunters, as they’re known, have discovered that hundreds of high ranking Nazi officials are living among us and conspiring to create a Fourth Reich in the US. The eclectic team of Hunters will set out on a bloody quest to bring the Nazis to justice and thwart their new genocidal plans.
The Amazon series will feature ten episodes.
Jordan Peele will produce the series under his company Monkeypaw Productions and David Weil will serve as writer and executive producer. Tom Lesinski and Jenna Santoianni from Sonar Entertainment will also executive produce.
Peele is also producing yet another series for Amazon based on the life of the infamous Lorena Bobbit, which some of us of a certain age may remember the story when it first broke. Lorena Bobbit is notoriously known for cutting her estranged husband’s peen off while he was sleeping! Peele is working overtime because additionally, he’s also working on the reboot of Twilight Zone for CBS All Access and Lovecraft Country for HBO.
Slow down Jordan! We’re here for it and ready to consume every last bit of what Monkeypaw Productions and Jordan Peele have in store for all of us.
