With Star Wars: The Last Jedi less than a month away, the anticipation is at its peak. Today Lucasfilm released a new short clip called “Tempt”. The title is perfect. It’s a temptation for fans. It doesn’t show many new scenes but it does give a darker tinge to the film. It’s also about Rey’s temptation. Rey and her journey is the focus though we see scenes of Leia, Finn, and Poe interspersed throughout the clip

We once again hear Luke asking Rey to reach out and tell him what she sees. “Light, darkness, and something else.” I wrote about how this film will be about the pull between the light and the dark. This clip shows that Rey might be stuck somewhere in between, possibly being pulled in a direction she doesn’t want to go. On the side of the light is Luke, who desperately calls her to resist yet seems reluctant to train her. On the other side is the darkness. Snoke and Kylo Ren are reaching out in this clip. In The Force Awakens both sensed the power she has and unlike Luke, they seem ready to help her understand that power. It’s a short clip but gives us a lot to think about.

In Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the Skywalker saga continues as the heroes of The Force Awakens join the galactic legends in an epic adventure that unlocks age-old mysteries of the Force and shocking revelations of the past.

The film stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, Kelly Marie Tran, Laura Dern and Benicio Del Toro. Star Wars: The Last Jedi is written and directed by Rian Johnson and produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman. J.J. Abrams, Tom Karnowski and Jason McGatlin are the executive producers.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens in U.S. theaters on December 15.
