The hunt is on again. And this time, it’s personal.
Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con erupted with energy as Predator: Badlands made its fierce debut in front of a packed house of die-hard sci-fi fans, genre buffs, and newcomers alike. The upcoming feature film — the latest in the ever-evolving Predator franchise — is shaping up to be one of the boldest entries yet, with a story that centers on survival, revenge, and resilience.
Directed by Dan Trachtenberg (Prey, Predator: Killer of Killers) Badlands promises not only an adrenaline-pumping hunt but a layered, emotional narrative rarely seen in sci-fi horror.
Predator: Badlands is the seventh installment in the mainline Predator series and the ninth in the overall franchise. Directed by Dan Trachtenberg and co-written with Patrick Aison, the sci-fi action film stars Elle Fanning and Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi in a bold new chapter that takes the iconic alien saga to uncharted territory.
Set in the future on a remote planet, the story follows a young Predator who has been cast out by his clan. Isolated and driven by a desire to prove himself, he forms an unexpected alliance with a human named Thia (Fanning). Together, they embark on a perilous journey across hostile terrain in search of the ultimate adversary, one that will test their survival instincts and challenge everything they believe about strength, loyalty, and honor. In Hall H, fans experienced 20-minutes worth on bone-chilling footage that had us yearning for more.
