Spoiler warning: This article reveals a major development from the Season 4 finale of Re -Starting Life in Another World-.
For Re fans who have been waiting for Rem to open her eyes, the Season 4 finale delivers a moment worth celebrating.
Re -Starting Life in Another World- has concluded its Season 4 “The Recapture Arc,” and a newly revealed epilogue visual commemorates one of the finale’s biggest developments: Rem has finally awakened.
Released to coincide with the episode’s events, the illustration depicts Rem gazing at protagonist Natsuki Subaru with wide eyes. Its accompanying tagline keeps the focus on the emotion of the moment: “Rem, I missed you so much.”
For a series filled with peril and painful setbacks, those few words carry considerable weight. The visual places the connection between Subaru and Rem at the center of the celebration, giving viewers a chance to linger on a reunion they have been anticipating.
The actors behind the characters are celebrating, too. Yusuke Kobayashi, who voices Natsuki Subaru, and Inori Minase, who voices Rem, have shared special comments commemorating the finale. According to the announcement, both performers express their happiness at Rem’s awakening and their anticipation for what comes next.
Their reactions add another layer to the occasion. Alongside the viewers who have followed these characters, the performers responsible for bringing them to life now get to mark a significant turning point in their story.
The finale also arrives during a milestone year for the franchise. In 2026, Re is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its television anime adaptation. The original light novel series has more than 16 million copies in circulation worldwide, including digital editions, underscoring the reach of a story that continues to connect with audiences.
With “The Recapture Arc” complete, Rem’s awakening gives fans plenty to discuss as the anniversary celebrations continue. The announcement encourages audiences to look forward to more from Re, though it does not specify the next project or release date.
For now, the new epilogue visual offers a fitting way to close this chapter: Rem’s eyes are open, Subaru is beside her, and a long-awaited moment finally has room to breathe.
