Sabrina and Daphne Grimm are heading back to Ferryport Landing for another season of magical mysteries.
Apple TV has unveiled a first look at season two of The Sisters Grimm, which will premiere globally on Friday, October 2. Based on Michael Buckley’s New York Times bestselling book series, the animated adventure follows two very different sisters who discover that sleuthing, sisterhood and a little Grimm family magic make them a formidable team.
Season one earned a perfect 100% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes, giving audiences another reason to anticipate the show’s return.
The new season picks up one year after the mysterious disappearance of Sabrina and Daphne’s parents. As the sisters continue searching for answers, they uncover more secrets hidden throughout Ferryport Landing, a seemingly ordinary town where fairy tales are real and storybook creatures walk among its residents.
Of course, learning that the Brothers Grimm are part of your family tree comes with more than a few complications. Sabrina and Daphne will once again have to rely on their wits and one another as they encounter new adventures, unexpected threats and mysteries that could bring them closer to discovering what happened to their parents.
Ariel Winter (Modern Family) returns as the voice of Sabrina, with Leah Newman as her younger sister, Daphne. The ensemble voice cast also includes Laraine Newman (Saturday Night Live) as Relda, Abubakar Salim (Raised by Wolves) as Charming, Billy Harris (Ted Lasso) as Puck and Harry Trevaldwyn (How to Train Your Dragon) as Mirror.
Emmy nominee Amy Higgins (Star vs. the Forces of Evil) developed the series and serves as showrunner alongside Emmy nominee Erica Rothschild (Sofia the First). Animation studio Titmouse, whose credits include Harriet the Spy, Frog and Toad and The Legend of Vox Machina, produces the six-episode season.
Higgins and Buckley executive produce alongside Elliot Blake, Philip Alberstat, Steven Amato and Theresa Park. Titmouse’s Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Ben Kalina and Antonio Canobbio also serve as executive producers, with Sage Cotugno serving as supervising director.
The Sisters Grimm joins Apple TV’s growing collection of family-friendly programming, which includes WondLa, Shape Island, Wonder Pets: In the City, Yo Gabba GabbaLand!, Camp Snoopy, Frog and Toad, Pinecone & Pony, Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock and The Velveteen Rabbit.
With its blend of mystery, fantasy and sisterly heart, The Sisters Grimm offers a playful spin on the stories many of us grew up reading. Season two premieres globally October 2 on Apple TV.
