Set to deliver all the bone-crushing action and high-stakes intensity fans have come to expect, the sequel ups the ante with an expanded cast, bigger battles, and the return of a fan-favorite hero Johnny Cage.

Karl Urban (The Boys, Dredd) joins the ensemble as the cocky but charismatic Cage, stepping into the chaos as Earthrealm’s champions face their deadliest challenge yet: the dark reign of Shao Kahn. The sequel promises to push the franchise into even more brutal and visually striking territory, with fights that test the limits of both loyalty and survival.

Returning cast members include Adeline Rudolph, Jessica McNamee, Josh Lawson, Ludi Lin, Mehcad Brooks, Tati Gabrielle, Lewis Tan, Damon Herriman, Chin Han, Tadanobu Asano as Lord Raiden, Joe Taslim as Bi-Han, and Hiroyuki Sanada reprising his fan-favorite role as Hanzo Hasashi, also known as Scorpion.

Director Simon McQuoid returns to helm the action-packed follow-up, bringing his signature cinematic flair and world-building prowess back to the arena. The screenplay comes from Jeremy Slater (Moon Knight), based on the beloved video game series created by Ed Boon and John Tobias. Behind the scenes, the film is produced by Todd Garner, James Wan, Toby Emmerich, E. Bennett Walsh, and McQuoid, with executive producers Michael Clear, Judson Scott, Slater, and Lawrence Kasanoff ensuring the franchise’s trademark blend of gore, mythology, and martial arts spectacle stays intact.
