2018 will mark BGN’s first year as accredited press at The Sundance Film Festival and the line up is stacked with A-listers and new filmmakers of color. DuVernay, McQueen, Coogler, Rees and many of today’s hottest filmmakers of color made their debut at Sundance. Last year’s festival featured The Incredible Jessica James, Get Out, The Big Sick, Wind River and Mudbound. For more than twenty years, the Sundance Film Festival has been a springboard for independent filmmakers. For indie filmmakers, Sundance has been the place to get distribution deals and it is a world-class incubator for filmmakers who are not part of the mostly white, male film industry.
